Compatibility

Compatible with all plug-in vehicles

Smart charging

Control your charging and analyse your data with the PriojectEV App

The charger connects via WiFi or ethernet for use with a smart phone or tablet

Fuse Protection (Load Balancing)

Fuse Protection reduces power to the car if your home’s usage gets close to your fuse limit. Now drivers with low home fuse limits can still charge at full power most of the time

Special features

Identify who is using the charger and how much they’ve used by giving your friends and family a special charging card to access the charger

Upgrade to the RFID version of this charger for this functionality for an extra £25

Cable

Choose to use the charger with your own charging cable (untethered) or with a charging cable permanently attached (tethered)

Tethered is more convenient but means the charger is only compatible with either Type 1 or Type 2 cars

Untethered is recommended if you have a Type 1 car as most new cars are Type 2

Speed

Available as a Fast (7kW) charger and is capable of lowering the power output in response to usage in the home (see the Fuse Protection upgrade). Or can be restricted to a lower power (even without the Fuse Protection upgrade)

Also available as an 11kW or 22kW product for those with a three-phase power supply at home

Had one of these installed last week, it works and it looks good from the front. Beware though, the tethered option is not tethered, they just sent you an extra cable.

ProjectEV were pretty awful. They gave me a date for installation but never came to install - apparently, they never booked it, I had taken a day off work for this and wasted my time. I had asked for compensation due to this, which took well over a month for them to respond to. The app they supply barely works, it took me a few weeks to be able to set it up properly. I would not recommend anyone get a ProjectEV charger.

I have had this charger for a few months now. The charger itself works as it should, although I wish there was a locking mechanism on it. However, the companion app is terrible. It took weeks and months to set everything up properly. I have cheap off-peak electricity rates so I set my car to charge overnight. The app should make this easy, as the functionality is there. However, the app just reverted back to some default setting so my charge timer wasn't working reliably. One night it didn't charge at all, luckily I didn't need it that day. All in all, I wish I had gone with a more reliable brand such as Pod Point. But it's a life lesson in trying to get a cheaper option.

Great charger, I really like the smart capability on it as it allows me to start and stop charging from my phone, I can also monitor costs per charge and electricity usage.
