Why choose the Pulsar Plus EV charger?
The charger has a black or white curved design with an LED ring on the front of the unit which glows green to show that you are charging your car. Compared a other home chargers on the market it is very compact (166x163x82mm without cable) so can be discreetly placed on the side of your home. Despite this compact, neat design the unit feels sturdy.
Easy to use
Designed to be simple to use, once installed you can 'plug and charge' to start charging quickly using the colour LED lights to quickly see which charging status you are currently at.
The wallbox app is one of the simplest to use in the EV chargers market. You are able to set a schedule directly in the app (over a Wi Fi or bluetooth connection) to help take advantage of cheap rate electricity periods your provider may have. While this is not automatic like some other chargers on the market, it is very easy to set and once you have a routine you won't need to change it too much.
The user interface is clean and features bold cards to help navigate easily as a user. You can change the power output directly and also lock and unlock the charger remotely.
The Pulsar Plus has a maximum power output of 22 kW charging capacity which gives a charging speed 8x faster than a standard charger. This is for phase 3 homes. It is also available in 7.4 kW and 11kW for the more common phase 1 homes.
The cable length is is 5m as standard with an optional 7m cable also available. It is only available as tethered option (tethered is the most popular on the market).
The Pulsar Plus is suitable for both type 1 or type 2 connectors to cover most electric cars on the market.
The Pulsar Plus charger comes with a 3 year warranty as standard with up to 5 years available.
How Much Does the Wallbox Pulsar Plus Cost?
The Pulsar Plus home charging point generally come in between the £780-£1300 mark including installation. This is inclusive of both the charger and installation of the unit.
The cost of this charger can be significantly reduced by taking advantage of the OZEV grant (formally OLEV grant), which can take up to £350 of the total cost of the Pulsar Plus charger.
